Fitness & terrain
This is not a sightseeing holiday.
The Beara is Ireland at its wildest: remote mountains, Atlantic coastline and a rare sense of solitude, well away from the busiest tourist trails.
That also means the walking is real. Paths can be rough, boggy and steep in places, and Atlantic weather can change quickly. The peninsula demands respect, and we plan for it.
You should be a regular walker, comfortable on your feet for several hours on uneven ground. Friday, from Glengarriff to Adrigole, is our challenge day. You'll walk with experienced local walking support, and you can always sit a day out.

Your questions
Good to know.
The Atlantic Edit is a fully hosted Irish travel experience for women, created by Just Us in Dublin. The first journey, The Beara Edit, is seven days of guided walking, beautiful places to stay, exceptional Irish food and real time off along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Not in the usual sense. There are no workshops, no programme and nothing to fix. It's a premium Irish journey — walking, hospitality, food and good company — where somebody else takes care of the details.
Honestly, it's proper walking. Walking days are approximately 14–16km, and the Beara can be remote, rough underfoot and exposed to Atlantic weather. Friday is our challenge day. You should be comfortable walking for several hours on uneven ground, and the peninsula always deserves respect.
You don't need to be a hiker, but you do need to be a regular walker. If you comfortably walk for a few hours at a time and enjoy it, you'll be well prepared. We'll share guidance on getting ready before you travel.
Yes — many women will. You'll be hosted from the moment you arrive in Dublin, part of a small group when you want company and free to take yourself off when you don't.
Yes. Your own room, proper sleep and no sharing with a stranger.
Of course. Let us know when you request the itinerary and we'll talk through the arrangements with you directly.
Then you don't. You're part of the group without having to participate in every minute of it. We'll make sure you get to the evening's destination and dinner.
Yes. Your luggage moves between locations for you. It gets there before you do.
Accommodation, private transport including airport transfers, guided walking, meals as set out in the itinerary, luggage transfers and recovery time are organised for you. The full inclusions and 2027 pricing are shared with the private itinerary.
No. International flights aren't included. Hosting begins when you arrive in Dublin and ends when we get you back to Dublin Airport.
It begins in Dublin on Monday and ends at Dublin Airport on Sunday.
We organise it. Airport transfers are part of the private transport arranged for you.
Genuinely good Irish food: Atlantic seafood, seasonal vegetables, West Cork produce and menus created with our hospitality partners. Breakfasts built for a day outside and dinners that are part of the experience. No detox menus. No tiny portions.
Please tell us about any dietary requirements when you request the itinerary, and we'll discuss them with you and our kitchens before you book.
Spa, sauna and genuine downtime are part of recovery. Exactly which treatments are included will be confirmed with our final 2027 hotel partners and set out in the itinerary.
Broken-in waterproof walking boots, a proper waterproof jacket and trousers, warm layers, a small daypack — and something lovely for dinner. We'll send a full packing list before you travel.
A 50% deposit secures your place on a departure. Everything else — the full itinerary, inclusions and booking terms — is confirmed with you directly before you commit.
It's Ireland. Rain is always possible. We plan for Irish weather rather than pretending it doesn't exist — good gear, sensible routes, a warm fire at the end of the day, and usually a rainbow somebody insists on photographing.
