Ireland in July, August or September: when should you come?

July

Long days — in the south-west it stays light until well after 10pm around the start of the month. Hedgerows are full of colour and the countryside is at its greenest.

August

Typically among the warmest weeks of the year, and the busiest time for holidays in Ireland and Europe. On Beara, busy is relative — you'll still find long stretches of quiet trail.

September

Evenings start to draw in and the light turns golden. Summer crowds thin out after schools return. The sea is often at its warmest.
